At least Two Palestinians Dead, Three Wounded I Breaking News
In a recent escalation of violence at the Al-Jib checkpoint, north of Jerusalem, two Palestinian individuals were fatally shot by Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, also left three others moderately wounded. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the deceased were Zaid Ward Shukri Khalifa, aged 23, and Abdullah Mamoun Hassan Assaf, just 16 years old.
The IDF stated that the use of lethal force was in response to the Palestinians throwing Molotov cocktails over a security barrier onto Route 436. This route connects the Ramot neighborhood in occupied east Jerusalem to the Israeli settlement of Givat Ze’ev. The IDF claimed that the actions of the Palestinians posed a significant danger to civilians and those using the road.
Following the shooting, the IDF reported that they apprehended the individuals involved and provided them with medical treatment. The wounded were transported to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah, as confirmed by the health ministry.
This incident has contributed to a rising death toll, which the Palestinian Ministry of Health reports has reached 430 since October 7. The IDF has confirmed that there were no additional casualties among their forces or other civilians.
The situation remains tense, and this event marks a continuation of the violence affecting the region. International observers and local authorities are closely monitoring developments.
